Manager, Kiel Advisory Group

Abigail is a Manager at Kiel Advisory, registered Psychologist and specialist in risk culture. With a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Hons) and Master in Organisational Psychology, Abigail specialises in delivering robust, multi-method culture assessments and uplifting organisational and risk culture capability. She brings deep industry perspective having worked with over twenty clients within financial services, including major Australian Banks, global insurers, and smaller superannuation firms.

Before joining Kiel Advisory, Abigail worked within the risk culture team at Deloitte (Risk Advisory). During her time there, Abigail managed the delivery of holistic risk culture assessments across various industries, tailoring methodologies to fit the unique context and needs of her clients. She also supported design and development of risk culture solutions, including measurement frameworks and indicators, risk awareness programs, and supporting the embedment of risk culture into internal audit. These projects have enabled Abigail to work directly with different organisational functions and across the three lines of defence—including frontline staff, risk management, HR, and internal audit. Some of her key experiences include delivering a COVID-19 risk culture case study for a major Australian bank, leading the risk culture reporting for a professional services firm across the Asia-Pacific region, and developing an organisational culture measurement framework for a global insurer.

In addition to her expertise in risk culture and financial services, Abigail has also had experience conducting safety culture and wellbeing reviews, and sustainability assessments – with clients across industries such as resources and energy, construction, and government. Prior to advisory work, she worked with UNSW's School of Management in organisational culture and research methodology. As a strong advocate of evidence-based practice she actively uses research to evolve culture measurement in a way that leads to high impact solutions for the organisations she works with.
