In certain circumstances, it may be appropriate to engage an external party to undertake a truly independent review of cultural risk. This may stem from a desire to demonstrate that conclusions are objective and free from bias; in other cases, there may be a particular need to overcome staff reluctance to speak up and share their concerns. Kiel has deep experience undertaking reviews of all sizes. We have conducted enterprise-wide assessments including all staff from the CEO to the frontline, as well as business- and function-level reviews, and reviews of more specific sub-groups such as the leadership team. Our assessments are fundamentally objective and evidence-based, but also balanced and sensitive to context. We share our conclusions by using data to ‘show, not tell’, thus maximising understanding and buy-in. We offer an independent view, but not a disconnected one.
